HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Wesley College men's soccer team earned a vital Capital Athletic Conference victory over Penn St. Harrisburg, downing the Nittany Lions 4-2 on Wednesday evening.

The win improved the team's record to 7-6-1 on the season, but more importantly a 4-1 mark in CAC play, moving the Wolverines into first place in the conference standings.

Zack Baker made four saves and earned the win between the pipes for the Navy and White. PSU-Harrisburg keeper Brandon Hoover was forced to make nine saves on the evening but took the loss.

Will Mileski opened the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 17th minute. The reigning CAC Offensive Player of the Week added to his goal tally, putting Wesley on the board in the early going. Tobi Sowande gave the Wolverines a 2-0 lead in the first half off an assist from Nektario Athanasiou. The two scores allowed Wesley to enter the halftime break with a comfortable cushion.

In the second half, Adrian Coverdale netted his sixth goal of the season to increase the Wesley margin to 3-0. The score came in the 59th minute off an assist from Mileski.

The three-goal deficit did not discourage the Nittany Lions though as they kept pressing to score. Less than three minutes after Coverdale's goal the hosts netted a score of their own to cut into the lead.

Coverdale added the finishing touches with a brace in the 79th minute to give the Wolverines the sure win. Thomas Franz was credited with an assist on the play as Wesley took a 4-1 lead. The Nittany Lions would net another goal in the waning moments, but it wasn't enough to topple the Wolverines as they cruised to the 4-2 victory.

The win marks the Wolverines' fourth conference victory of the season, giving them the points lead (12) in the CAC standings. The squad will return to action on Saturday, October 17 when they travel to face CAC rival Christopher Newport University.
