Springsteen's Debut Earns CAC Defensive Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - After leading the Wesley College Men's Soccer team to an undefeated opening week, freshman goalkeeper Kyle Springsteen was named Capital Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Springsteen was picked as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after totaling nine saves and allowing just two goals in a 1-0-2 opening week for the Wolverines. Springsteen helped the Wolverines to a 2-1 win over McDaniel in the opener, making four saves including a penalty kick stop in the 77th minute to keep the game level. Against Eastern Mennonite, he produced his first collegiate shutout, making two saves including another saved penalty. He made three saves against Bridgewater, keeping the Wolverines level for 110 minutes. For the week, he posted a .818 save percentage and 0.58 goals against average in 312:18 minutes of action. 

Springsteen and the Wolverines will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they host Randolph-Macon College.
