DANBURY, Conn. - After earning a shutout in the Wesley College Men's Soccer team's 4-0 victory over Cairn University on Saturday, freshman goalkeeper Kyle Springsteen was named ECAC South Region Rookie of the Week.
Springsteen earned his second shutout of the season, making eight saves in the Wolverines' 4-0 win over Cairn. The freshman had to come up with a few bold plays, including a charging stop on a Cairn breakaway early in the second half that could have tied the game. Springsteen has notched two shutouts in his young career and has logged a 1.37 goals against average this year.
The Wolverines will return to action on Wednesday evening when they travel to Chestertown, Md. to take on Washington College.
