DOVER, Del. – A back-and-forth second half gets away from the Wesley College men's soccer team as they suffer a 2-1 defeat to the Shenandoah Hornets in a non-conference match on Friday night.
After a scoreless first half, Shenandoah opened the scoring in the 75th minute when Brian Maye scored the opening tally of the contest.
Two minutes later, Wesley drew a foul in the box and Danny Garza netted the game tying goal.
In the 87th minute, Shenandoah earned a penalty kick of their own and Andres Garces nailed the eventual game-winner.
Wesley outshot Shenandoah 13-10 and held the corner kick advantage 5-2.
Kyle Springsteen made three saves in the loss.
The Wolverines will hit the road this weekend when they take on the Valley Forge Patriots on Sunday. Action from Phoenixville, Pa. will kick off at 4 p.m.
