DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's soccer team dropped their Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opener to the Frostburg State Bobcats, 2-1 on Saturday.
Chimaobi Ikwuagwu would get Wesley on the board early. In the fifth minute, Matt Waldron would play a through ball from the midfield up to Ikwuagwu where he would put the ball past the keeper to give Wesley the early lead.
Frostburg St. would tie it up 15 minutes later on a penalty kick from Josh McRobie.
McRobie had another chance at a penalty kick 15 minutes into the second half but Kyle Springsteen made a diving stop on the shot to keep the game nodded up at one.
The two teams battled back-and-forth until late in the second half when Johnathan Lippett intercepted the Wesley clear and put away the game-winning goal for the Bobcats.
Springsteen notched four saves for the Wolverines.
The Wolverines are back in action this Wednesday, Sept. 27 when they host the Delaware Valley Rams in a non-conference tilt. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
