Wesley clashes with Southern Virginia in CAC battle

BUENA VISTA, Va. – A high-scoring Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) matchup between the Wesley College men's soccer team and the Southern Virginia Knights goes in favor of the Knights, 6-3 on Saturday.

Darius-David Robinson would get on the board early for the Wolverines with a goal less than two minutes into the game.

After two unanswered goals by the Knight, the Wolverines a free kick by Nicholas Hood found Robinson would find the back of the net by sliding in and getting his foot on the ball to tie the game up at two in the 17th minute.

Southern Virginia answered with two goals to take the lead, one before halftime and one two minutes into the second half. The Wolverines cut the lead when Chimaobi Ikwuagwu would find the back of the net The Knights notched two goals to push the advantage to three goals.

Kyle Springsteen made six saves for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines are back in action this Wednesday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Middletown, Pa to take on Penn St.-Harrisburg. The CAC match is set for 3 p.m.
