Men’s Soccer blanks Cairn, 3-0 in season opener

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's soccer team battled through the rain to shutout Cairn, 3-0 in their 2018 season opener on Friday.

Danny Garza opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when the defense headed a Cairn clearance to Darius-David Robinson who passed it ahead to Danny Garza for the opening goal of 2018.

Garza would find Deekai Gbonimy and Chimaobi Ikwuagwu for goals in the second half to start pulling away from the Highlanders.

Kyle Springsteen would pick up his first clean sheet of the year, stopping both shots that came his way.

The Wolverines will be back in action on Sunday when they head to Towson, Md. to take on the Goucher Gophers. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
