Ikwuagwu scores twice as men’s soccer downs Goucher, 3-1

TOWSON, Md. – The Wesley College men's soccer team defeated the Goucher Gophers, 3-1 on the road.

Chimaobi Ikwuagwu opened the scoring in the seventh minute when he got a pass from the midfield, beat the defender and sneaked the shot past the Goucher goalkeeper.

Ikwuagwu scored again in the 21st minute when Darius-David Robinson flicked it ahead and Ikwaugwu blasted a left-footed shot past the goalie.

After an impressive save by Jason Sommer on a penalty kick by Goucher's Brandon Cohen, Cohen got his own rebound and scored in the 53rd minute, Deekai Gbonimy put Wesley back up by two when he chipped the goalkeeper at the top of the box.

Sommer made two saved in net for the Wolverines. Wesley outshot Goucher 10-8.

Wesley (2-0) will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Wilson Phoenix. Kickoff from Drass Field is set for 7 p.m.
