Wolverines WIN tournament weekend

FREDERICK, Md. - The Wolverines battled until the end today in the match up against Hood to take the tournament win.

The Wolverines tied their match with Hood College in double OT but came out on top of the tournament due to a goal difference.

Offensive MVP of the tournament was Justin John-Langba who scored Wesley's opening goal in both matches this weekend.

Deffensive MVP of the tournament was last years AEC defensive MVP, Matt Dina. Dina also had two goals over the weekend.

"Always exciting to win a trophy. Disapointed not to win the match up against Hood but the guys worked hard for the tie." stated Coach Clark.

Hood's goalie, Danny Castillo faced 16 shots on goal (SOG) and managed to save all except one, he played outstanding.

The Wolverines played well in the first half and created many opportunities but had just one goal to show for their work.

Heading into the second half the Wolverines lost some momentum but kept battling.

"Hood is a good team, they kept pushing, earned a goal and the draw." said Coach Clark.

The Wolverines will be working on being more clinical and have some work to do before they face Lehman in a home match up on Saturday, September 7th, scheduled for a 1:00 p.m kick off.
