DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's tennis team remains unbeaten after defeating Division I Maryland-Eastern Shore, 7-2, on Wednesday afternoon at the DuPont Tennis Courts. The Wolverines are now 3-0 on the season entering Capital Athletic Conference place.
The Wolverines swept the doubles portion, needing just two victories in singles to clinch the match. Chris Maximo and Andrew Crews shutout their opponent in No. 2 doubles, while the duo of Kevin Mangini/Patrick Aruta nearly did the same with an 8-1 victory in the third flight. Nick Barr and Cochise Lucas also won their match in the top position with an 8-5 win.
Mangini was even more dominant at No. 6 singles as he was in doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over George Justice. Barr, Aruta and Crews also earned straight-set victories while blanking their opponents in the second set.
Next for Wesley is a CAC match at York (Pa.) on Friday, March 30, at 3:30 pm.
