DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker to Hood College, 5-4, on Tuesday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action at the DuPont Tennis Courts.  The Wolverines are now 3-5 on the season.

Hood won the top two doubles spots but Patrick Aruta and Kevin Mangini blanked Trevor Baldwin and Luis Cotto, 8-0, at No. 3, giving the Wolverines a shot at a victory.

The Blazers took Nos. 1-3 in singles, but Aruta and Mangini were just as dominant at singles as they were in doubles.  Aruta defeated Chris Papinsick, 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth spot while Mangini shutout Cotto at No. 6 in straight sets.

Andrew Crews also earned a victory in the fifth spot over Baldwin, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).

The decisive match came in the third position as Nick Barr took on Travis Kline of Hood.  Barr took the opening set, 4-6 before falling in the second by an identical score.  The deciding set went to a tiebreaker but Kline took down Barr, 7-1 in the extra game.

The Wolverines are back in action on Wednesday, April 11, when they travel to Salisbury University for a 5 pm CAC matchup.
