Men's Track Finishes Fourth at UDel To Open 2012

NEWARK, Del. - Wesley College's men's track & field team opened the season with a fourth place showing at the Delaware Invitational held at the University of Delaware Fieldhouse.  The Wolverines finished ahead of Capital Athletic Conference rival, Hood College, and Holy Family while falling to Merchant Marine, Lincoln (Pa.) and Ursinus.

While Wesley did not compete with a full roster, the Navy & White saw seven different runners score in eight events on the night.

Robert McCloskey won the weight throw with a toss of 12.22m, taking the event by .19m.  He also finished eighth in the shot put just behind teammate Derrick Mulholland's 9.89m hurl.

Josh Milton took second in the 200m in 24.21 and fourth in the 60m (7.39).

Michael Liegey and Travis Alano also recorded points for the Wolverines in multiple events.  The duo ran the third and fourth leg of the third place finishing 4x400 relay in 4:14.25.  They were joined by Mike Mango and Korey Thompson.  Liegey also took seventh in the Mile in 5:35.65 while Alano was eighth in the 800m in 2:51.39.

Also competing at the Invite were Division I members, Delaware State, Villanova and Saint Joseph's.  Team results for Division I were kept separately from team results from Division II-III.
