Bundy Takes 200m At Thomson Invitational

NEWARK, Del. - Matt Bundy led the Wesley College men's track & field team to a 11th place finish at the Thomson Invitational on Saturday at the Delaware Fieldhouse. Four Division I schools and the Delaware Track Club also competed which moved Wesley to 15th of 22 teams.

A freshman from Media, Pa., Bundy won the 200m dash in 22.82 and placed second in the 60m in 7.15.  Both of his performances would have won the Division I race as well.  Bundy also ran the opening leg of the 4x400m which scored a point with its time of 4:00.13.  Following Bundy was Joseph Perez, Mike Mango and Alex DelloBuono.

In field events, both Todd Bockarie and Robert McCloskey earned points for the Wolverines.  Bockarie place seventh in the triple jump with a 11.89m performance.  McCloskey finish eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 11.17m.

Numerous school-records were broken by the Wolverines as well.  Richard Feeney crossed the finish of the 800m in 2:11.26, besting the old school-mark by nearly 15 seconds.  DelloBuono set a new standard in the Mile, covering the trackin 4:59.06.  Michael Liegey also set a school-record in the 3000m with a 10:57.57 performance.

Wesley returns to the track on February 11 when it travels to Princess Anne, Md., for the UMES Collegiate Invitational.
