McCloskey Shatters Hammer Throw School Record

NEWARK, Del. – Robert McCloskey shattered his own school-record in the hammer throw on Saturday afternoon at the University of Delaware Outdoor Open at UD Stadium. 

A junior from Riverside, N.J., McCloskey took fifth in the event with his 37.46m toss.  His effort broke his own two-year-old record by nearly three meters.

Jarrod Diaz also had a good showing in both the long jump (third, 6.35m) and triple jump (seventh, 12.12m).  Leon Jones also earned points in the long jump by placing fifth with a 6.22m effort.

Also earning points in the open invite was Matt Bundy who finished sixth in the 100m (11.40).

Wesley's men's track & field team is back in action next weekend at the two-day Widener Invitational on April 20-21.
