4x200m Relay Sets School-Record
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - In its final tuneup for the Capital Athletic Conference Championships, a handful of runners from the regionally-ranked Wesley College men's track & field team competed at the Ursinus College Open on Friday night. Both sophomore Matt Bundy and freshman Robert Wiggs took second overall in individual events, first against only Division II and Division III competition, and helped set a school-record in the 4x200m Relay.
Competing in just his second career college track meet, Wiggs recorded a 21-02.75" effort in the long jump. Only Nigel Thompson of Division I Morgan State jumped farther than Wiggs, who now has the fourth farthest jump in the CAC this season. Competing for the first time ever in the long jump, Bundy also travel 20-01.00".
Bundy took second place overall and first among Division II and III athletes in the 200m Dash (22.61).
Wiggs ran the first leg, while Bundy anchored the 4x200m Relay to a school-record time of 1:34.13, besting the old school-mark set last weekend by nearly a quarter of a second. Freshmen Carl Watson and Alex Costley ran the second and third legs, respectively.
