SALISBURY, Md. – Junior Matt Bundy and freshman De'Vaughn Trader scored in four different events to lead Wesley College's men's track & field team at the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Championships this weekend. Trader finished in the top six in both the long and triple jump, as well as the 100m Dash and 4x100m Relay while Bundy scored in the 110m hurdles, 200m Dash and both the 4x100 and 4x400m Relay.
A junior from Media, Pa., Bundy finished third in both the 110m hurdles (15.72) and 200m Dash (21.94). Running the second leg in both relays, Bundy gave the Wolverines the lead through the halfway point, including a remarkable showing in the 4x400m Relay where he past every opponent's second leg.
Trader, a Delmar, Del., native, led off the 4x100m Relay and gave Wesley an early lead which Bundy extended, but the Wolverines took third overall in an ECAC qualifying time of 43.59. Bundy ran a 48 second split in the 4x400m which took fifth overall in a respectable 3:33.31.
Competing in his first CAC outdoor championship, Trader finished fourth in the long jump (20-10.00), fifth in the triple jump (40-09.50) and sixth in the 100m Dash (11.17).
Freshman Mike Ford ran the third leg on the 4x100m Relay, with Zachary Taylor running the anchor in both relays, and also took fifth in the shot put, breaking his own school-record by over a foot with a 44-00.50' toss.
Also in the throwing events, senior Will Seeley finished fourth in the javelin (161-11) while senior Robert McCloskey took fifth in the hammer throw (127-04).
