Jenkins, Walker Sweep CAC Men’s Track Honors

YORK, Pa. – After leading Wesley College to its first-ever team title at the Ursinus Bow-Tie Classic on Saturday, freshmen Markael Jenkins and Cedric Walker have been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

A native of White Plains, Md., Jenkins posted a CAC-record tying mark in the 60m Dash and contributed to a school-record finish in the 4x400m Relay.  Jenkins won the 60m dash in 6.98 which ranks fifth in the Nation and beat out his own teammate by a hundredth of a second.  Jenkins also led the 4x400 Relay to a victory, recording a time of 3:30.49 to rank sixth in NCAA Division III.

Walker won the long jump with a mark of 21-8.75 and took second in the triple jump at 44-0.5.  Hailing from Wilmington, Del., Walker currently ranks eighth in the Nation in the long jump while his triple jump is currently ninth in NCAA Division III.

Wesley returns to the track on January 10 when it travels to New York City for the Gotham Cup held at The Armory Track.
