CHESTER, Pa. – Carlton Sheppard's school-record effort in the 1,500m Run highlighted the Wesley College track & field team's day at the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday afternoon. A junior from Baltimore, Md., Sheppard finished 31st of 101 runners in 4:15.09, breaking Alex Dello Buono's old mark by over 15 seconds.
Also competing on the track was Dominic McAnulty, who finished 32nd of 67 runners in the 800m Run (2:08.99).
In the field events, freshman Alec Laise placed 6th in the javelin with a toss of 134-00 while freshman Darryl Guilford finished 19th in the shot put (36-04.75). Freshman Ryan Shilling also competed in the shot put and put forth an effort of 33-00.50 to place 26th.
The lone women's athlete to compete was Kadijah Doughty, who took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 34-09.50.
A select group of athletes will compete for the Wolverines at the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton University on April 4-5.
