Men’s Sprinters Dominate Prelims to Open CAC’s

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshmen DaJahn Lowery and Johnny Crenshaw ran the top preliminary times in the 100m and 200m Dash, respectively, in the opening day of the Capital Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Lowery won his heat in 10.76 which ranks in the top 20 nationally and is one of four Wolverines to earn a spot in tomorrow's 100m Final.  Fellow freshman Patrick Schlosser (10.83), Markael Jenkins (11.06) and Noel Spencer (11.22) also qualified.

A native of Felton, Del., Crenshaw finished the 200m Dash in 21.97 while Lowery (22.00), Jenkins (22.14)  and Spencer (22.26) also finished in the top eight to qualify.

De'Vaughn Trader also competed in the triple jump, placing seventh in 40-02.75.

In the throws, Ryan Shilling tossed the hammer 111-06 while Thomas Kidwell took eighth in the javelin in 147-05. Alec Laise (133-11) and Dylan Kaplan (117-07) also threw the javelin.
