Eado, Williams Lead Men’s Track to 3rd Place Finish at Ursinus Bowtie Classic

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Freshmen Urgy Eado won the 500m Dash and Xaire Williams shattered the school-record in the shot put to lead the Wesley College men's track & field team to a third place finish at the season opening Ursinus Bowtie Classic.  The Wolverines finished just behind Johns Hopkins and DeSales University.

A native of Rockville, Md., Eado took the title in the 500m Dash in a time of 1:07.48, shaving nearly four seconds off the old school-record.  Sophomores Dominic McAnulty (1:07.89) and Evan Le'Mon (1:09.24) took second and fifth, respectively, in the event, in times that also broke the existing school mark.

Williams, a Red Bank, N.J., product, took second in the shot put with a toss of 47-03.75.  His effort was nearly three feet farther than the two-year-old school record held by Mike Ford.

Wesley also had strong showings in the short sprints with Patrick Schlosser finishing third in the 60m Dash (7.03) and freshman Roland Attoh-Okine taking fourth in the 60m hurdles (8.69).

Freshman Brandon Hunter also took fourth in the triple jump (42-04) while classmate Mark Mellette finished sixth in the long jump (20-08)

The Wolverines return to the track on January 24, 2015 at the Tiger Open hosted by Princeton University.
