#25 Men’s Track & Field Takes 2nd at Delaware Classic

NEWARK, Del. – DaJahn Lowery won both 100m and 200m Dash while Roland Attoh-Okine won the 110m hurdles to lead the 25th-ranked Wesley College men's track & field team to a second place finish at the University of Delaware Classic at Grant Stadium on Saturday.

A sophomore from Suitland, Md., Lowery won the 100m Dash in 10.78 which is tops in the Capital Athletic Conference and 19th nationally.  Later in the day, Lowery battled a tough headwind but still clocked a 22.31 to win the 200m Dash.

The top freshman hurdler in NCAA Division III, Attoh-Okine won the hurdles in 14.85, beating out Taj Showalter in a photo-finish.

Second place overall finishes were turned in by sophomore Anthony Brinkley in the 400m hurdles (56.84), freshman Luis Arteaga in his debut in the 3,000m Steeplechase (11:07.89) and junior De'Vaughn Trader in the long jump (22' 1.75").

Sophomore Ryan Shilling took third overall in the discus with a personal-record toss of 137' 0" while freshman Antwan Ellerbe took fourth in the shot put (42' 8.25").  Shilling also threw the hammer 94' 7", ranking just behind teammate Chris Scanlon's 102' 5" effort.

Ben Miller debuted in both the pole vault (10' 0") and 100m dash (11.67) while Ja'mier Bailey clocked a 2:02.73 in the 800m Run.

Travis Young was tops among a trio of Wolverines the javelin (138' 0") while Dylan Kaplan and Alex Mesa threw the implement 124' 1" and 123' 6", respectively.

Wesley returns to the track on Friday-Sunday, May 1-3 at the CAC Championships hosted by York (Pa.).
