Wolverines Travel to Staten Island to Compete

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Wesley College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams took a select number of athletes to Oceanbreeze Track in Staten Island, N.Y. to compete in an invitational meet against mostly Division I and Division II squads on Friday.

On the women's side, Elizsha Streeter, Angel Hall, Quadira Minus, and Briana Artis combined to form the 4x400m relay, finishing in a time of 3:58.41. Kaylah Mitchell was the only other women's competitor, earning a 10.54 meter mark in the triple jump.

On the men's side, the Wesley 4x400m team comprised of Patrick Schlosser, Dominic McAnulty, Carlton Sheppard, and Vicco Bedell finished in 3:22.44 for 12th place overall. Roland Attoh-Okine took the top individual finish for the Wolverines, earning 11th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.28. In the 800m, Will Taylor Jr. finished in 1:56.15, just behind Carlton Sheppard at 1:55.45. In the field De'Vaughn Trader hit a 6.22m mark in the long jump while Ryan Shilling finished with a 13.25m mark in the weight throw.

Wesley will look to continue their solid showings this weekend when they travel to Christopher Newport University for the Capital Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
