YORK, Pa. - On Friday afternoon the Capital Athletic Conference released the 2016 All-Conference teams for men's indoor track. Five members of the Wesley College Men's Track and Field team and one relay team earned All-Conference honors.
Freshman Anthony Simpson continued to rake in the accolades this season, earning All-Conference First Team honors and CAC Rookie of the Year for his performance at the CAC Indoor Championships. Simpson posted a 6.87 finish in the preliminaries before setting the CAC Indoor Championships meet record with a 6.82 finish for gold in the 60m. In the 200m, the freshman crossed the line in 22.30, recording the fastest time by any CAC athlete this season. He also anchored Wesley's 4x400 relay team that finished second with a time of 3:25.55.
De'Vaughn Trader also earned All-CAC First Team honors, placing first in the long jump at the CAC Championships with a mark of 6.94m.
Sprinter DaJahn Lowery earned All-CAC Second Team honors, finishing just behind Simpson in the 60m with a time of 6.90. Roland Attoh-Okine was also named to the Second Team after placing second in the 60m hurdles with a mark of 8.05. Wesley's 4x400 relay team also earned Second Team honors. Simpson and Lowery were joined by Vicco Bedell and Nick Stenderowicz to take second place and earn the All-Conference nod.
The Wolverines will look to continue their success moving forward. Some of the squad will take part in the Boston Last Chance Meet, hosted by Boston University while the team's qualifiers will travel to Staten Island for the ECAC Indoor Championships on March 4.
