Kimes Named USTFCCCA Regional Coach of the Year

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season were announced Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Wesley Men's and Women's Track and Field Head Coach Stephen Kimes was named Mideast Region Coach of the Year.

Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

In his fourth season at Wesley, Coach Kimes has built a solid foundation for the Wolverines. He led the squad to a third place finish in the CAC Championships, tying their best team finish in program history. Under Kimes, Wesley is ranked in the top-20 for the first time in program history (now No. 8) and is the only program in the nation with three runners in the top-20 of the 60 (two in the top-10). Kimes had 12 of his athletes qualify for the upcoming NCAA meet.

Coach Kimes and the Wolverines will compete at the NCAA Division III Championships beginning on Friday at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
