Wolverines Attempt to Snatch NCAA Qualification at Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Wesley College Men's Track and Field team did all they could to secure a few more NCAA Championship qualifying marks on Monday afternoon as they traveled to Swarthmore College for the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.

Dajahn Lowery and Greg Taylor both put up impressive times in the 100m, finishing in 10.79 and 10.90 respectively. Anthony Simpson earned a mark of 21.64 in the 200m, while Taylor crossed in 22.30. Carlton Sheppard turned in a program record 1:52.00 in the 800m. Roland Attoh-Okine finished the 110m hurdles in 15.00 flat. 

The Wolverines' 4x100m relay team of Simpson, Lowery, Taylor, and De'Vaughn Trader broke a program record set in the NCAA Championships in 2014, crossing in 40.64. The 4x400m relay team of Attoh-Okine, Simpson, Lowery, and Sheppard finished in 3:16.60. 

In the field, Trader finished with a 6.72m leap in the long jump while Brandon Hunter reached 13.47m in the triple jump. Alec Laise threw for 46.58 in the javelin.

The Wolverines will have to wait until Thursday to see who will qualify for the NCAA Championships. Those qualifying will travel to Wartburg College in Iowa to compete next weekend.
