NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Wesley College men's and women's track & field are both ranked among the best in Division III, according to the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings released on January 31.
The men's team improved two spots in the rankings from eighth to the sixth position with 80.47 points while the women jumped 10 spots to crack the top 25 and are ranked 17th in the nation collecting 43.52 points. In the Mideast region, the Wolverine women are third-best behind Johns Hopkins and Misericordia.
The men's team features five marks that are top 10 in their respective events, two of them are top three in the nation. The women's team tallied three marks in the top, including one ranked in the top three.
Both teams showed well against a field of Division I opponents at the Wesley Brown Invitational last Saturday, held at the U.S. Naval Academy.
The Wolverine men had 14 top-10 finishes while 13 women placed in the top-10 at the meet.
The Wolverine track & field teams will return to action next Saturday when they compete in the Frank Colden Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College.
