Eight Wolverines qualify for NCAA Championships

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's and women's track & field teams will be sending eight athletes to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Ill.

Wesley is sending four individuals and the women's 4x400-meter relay team to the national meet.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Elizsha Streeter, Angel Hall, Quadira Minus and Briana Artis will be looking to better their performances from a season ago. The quartet took home the bronze medal and All-American status in the Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2016. Currently, the Wolverines rank seventh in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:53.15

Roland Attoh-Okine also looks to repeat a great performance from the 2016 Indoor Championship. Attoh-Okine earned All-American status and sixth place in the 60-meter hurdles. Attoh-Okine goes into the national meet ranked sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.12 seconds.

Greg Taylor is the last of the "veterans" to qualify for the National Championships. Taylor has gone to the national outdoor meet twice as part of the 4x100-meter relay team but this will be the first time he will qualify for a national meet as an individual. Taylor enters the Championships ranked 12th in the nation in the 60 meters, clocking in at 6.89 seconds.

Joseph Crenshaw and Jasmine Brown will be going to the NCAA Championships for the first time. Crenshaw qualified for the 200-meter dash while Brown will be competing in the high jump. Crenshaw ranks ninth in the 200, turning in a time of 22.09. Brown currently has the 11th best height in the high jump, clearing 1.70 meters (5-7).

The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships starts on Friday, March 10. Attoh-Okine will run the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries at 2:45 p.m. Taylor will compete in the 60-meter dash preliminaries at 3:50 p.m. Crenshaw runs in the 200-meter dash preliminaries at 4:45 p.m. Finally, the women's 4x400-meter relay will start at 5:45 p.m.

Brown will compete in the high jump on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. while the finals of Friday's preliminaries will be later in the afternoon.
