FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) released the Men's Indoor Track & Field All-CAC Teams on Thursday.
Wesley freshman Thomas Kalieta Jr. was named the CAC Rookie of the Year. Kalieta helped the Wolverines dominate the sprint events at the conference championships. Kalieta won both the 200- and 400-meter dashes and anchored the second-place 4x400-meter relay team. He is the second Wolverines to collect Rookie of the Year, joining Anthony Simpson, who won the award in 2016.
Kalieta, Christian Saulsbury, Daquay Harris-Winbush and Tre' Johnson each landed on the All-CAC First Team after winning their events at the indoor championships this past weekend. In addition to Kalieta winning the 200 and 400, Saulsbury finished first in the 60-meter dash. In the jumps, Harris-Winbush won the long jump while Johnson took first in the triple jump.
Wesley finished in second place at the CAC Indoor Championships, the highest finish ever by the Wolverines.
