FAIRFAX, Va. – The Wesley College men's and women's track & field teams competed against Division I competition at the George Mason Last Chance meet on Sunday.
The Wesley women's team collected 17 top-five finishes en route to winning the meet.
Angel Hall picked up a win in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 59.07 seconds. Hall also placed third in the 200 meters (26.28).
The Wolverines placed 1-2 in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Briyanna Woods, Lekeshia Brown-Myrick, Victoria Robinson and Emani McNeil won the relay with a time of 4:23.74. The quartet of Rakiya Taylor, Quadira Minus, Tyler Reid and Anicia Boler came in second with a time of 4:31.58.
Evelina Sloboh placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.96 seconds. Taylor was third in the 60, crossing in 8.26 seconds. Boler was right behind Taylor, finishing in 8.31 seconds.
Sloboh (26.61), Taylor (27.01) and Woods (27.48) were 4-5-6 in the 200-meter dash. Quadira Minus tallied a second-place time in the 500-meter dash (1:27.95).
Ashley Morris finished second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.03) while Shaniel Thomas placed fifth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.85 seconds.
In the jumps, Teyri Reed notched fourth place in triple jump (10.53m, 34-6.75). Lekeshia Brown-Myrick placed fifth in the event with a mark of 10.34 meters (34-0.75).
Jourdyn Beverly recorded third in the weight throw (14.31m, 46-11) and fourth in the shot put (10.61m, 34-9.75). Zekiah Fountain placed fourth in the weight throw (12.98, 42-7).
On the men's side, the Wolverines collected 10 top-five finishes at George Mason.
Four Wolverines qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash. Christian Saulsbury placed second in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 7.04 seconds. TySean Cousar was fourth in the event with a time of 7.15 seconds.
