DOVER, Del. – Ten Wesley College track & field athletes qualified for the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which begins on Thursday, May 24 and is hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Six Wesley men qualified for the national meet. Thomas Kalieta Jr. qualified for the 400-meter dash and as part of the 4x400-meter relay. Kalieta is the second seed in the 400 with a qualifying time of 47.01 seconds. TySean Cousar, John Heriot and Dominic McAnulty join Kalieta on the fifth-ranked 4x400-meter relay team. It is the third NCAA Championships McAnulty has competed in.
Roland Attoh-Okine returns to the NCAA Championships for the fourth time as the 14th seed in the 110-meter hurdles. Attoh-Okine is a three-time All-American, twice in the indoor 60-meter hurdles and at last year's outdoor championships after a fifth-place finish in the hurdles in 2017.
Tre' Johnson qualified as the 17th seed in the triple jump with a mark of 14.63 meters (48-0).
The quartet of Briana Artis, Evelina Sloboh, Rakiya Taylor and Maysha Foster represents the Wesley women's team in the 4x100-meter relay as the fourth seed in the race. It is the fifth time Artis has qualified for an NCAA Championship and the second trip to nationals for Sloboh. Artis is a four-time All-American in the 4x400-meter relay.
