Men’s Track & Field enters USTFCCCA Top 25


NEW ORLEANS – The Wesley College men's track & field team landed on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Indoor Track & Field Top 25 for the first time in the 2019 season.

Wesley is ranked 17th in the second week of the top-25, soaring from 29th in the previous poll. It was the biggest jump in the top-25 in the nation that week. In the Mideast Region, the Wolverines rank second behind the Haverford Fords, who are ranked sixth in the nation.

Freshman Kai Cole holds the top time in the 60-meter dash in the nation. Cole ran the 60 in 6.82 seconds at the Ursinus Collegeville Classic on Jan. 19.  He also ran the fastest 60-meter dash of the week when he clocked in at 6.86 seconds in the event at the Navy Invitational on Jan. 26.

Sophomore Thomas Kalieta Jr. sits second in the 400-meter dash in the country with a time of 48.70 seconds, which he notched at the Spartan Invitational on Jan. 11. Kalieta ran the quickest 400 of the week, when he finished second in the race at the Navy Invitational with a time of 48.76 seconds.

Cole and Kalieta are tied for fourth in the nation in the 200 meters with their performance at the Navy Invitational. Both crossed the line in 21.74 seconds, which was the fastest time in Division III for the week. Sophomore John Heriot ranks 18th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.98 seconds.
