GENEVA, Ohio – Wesley College sophomore Thomas Kalieta Jr. and freshman Kai Cole attained All-American status on the final day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at SPIRE Institute.
Kalieta placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a school record time of 46.87 seconds to earn the third All-American award of his career. Kalieta shaved .14 seconds off his previous school record of 47.01 seconds at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier in 2018. His time was just .07 seconds off of the previous stadium record.
Cole collected his second All-American honor of his freshman campaign with an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Cole crossed the finish line in 10.55 seconds.
It is the fourth consecutive outdoor national championship meet that head coach Stephen Kimes has coached at least one All-American.
