Men Seventh at Dukes Invitational

VINELAND, N.J. - A youthful Wesley College men's cross country team opened its 2010 campaign at the Dukes Invitational hosted by Cumberland County College.

Four of the Wolverines' top five runners were freshmen.  Michael Liegey (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) paced the squad in 20th place with a time of 20:23 on the 5,000-meter course.  Terry Harens-Walgreen (Shadyside, Md./Southern) finished 24th, 61 seconds after Liegey.  Mike Mango (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) was 39th in 23:04, followed by Quinn Butler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) in 23:14.  Joseph Perez (Bronx, N.Y./Academy of Enviromental Sciences) rounded out the scoring contingent for the Wolverines in 46th place with a time of 26:55.

Ozzi Huerta of Gloucester County College was the individual champion in a time of 16:29, to lead his team to the win.

Wesley is back in action on September 18 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational.
