SMYRNA, Del. – Adeola James shaved over a minute of his performance from last year at the same course to highlight the Wolverines sixth place performance at the Delaware State Invitational on Friday afternoon. Wesley defeated crosstown rival Delaware State while finishing just behind a contingent of Division I teams Maryland-Eastern Shore, North Carolina A&T, Howard, Coppin State and Morgan State.
James took fourth on the team in 32:39.1, shattering the 33:42 he ran at the same location last year while freshman Luis Arteaga paced the Wolverines with a 29:53.8 on the 8K (5-mile course).
Finishing just ahead of James was Ja'Mier Bailey (31:30.7) and Darryl Burks (31:46.6) while freshman Jeff Koletsky rounded out the top five in 33:42.6. Also competing for the Navy & White was Ben Miller (35:49.2) and Evan Le'Mon who made his season debut in 36:18.4.
Wesley now has two weeks off before the Capital Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, November 1, held at Four Winds Golf Course in Rappahannock Valley, Virginia.
