SALISBURY, MD. – The Wesley College men's and women's cross country teams competed on Saturday at the Don Cathcart Invitational, hosted by Salisbury University.
The women performed well at the meet, finishing in eighth place in the 17-team field, finishing ahead of Division I Delaware State.
Natalie Quigley paced the Wesley women with a 35th place finish in her first race of the fall season. Quigley finished with a time of 24:45.57 with a average mile pace of 6:38.5.
Linda Ngouendja was right behind Quigley, placing in 40th place with a time of 25:11.05 and an average mile of 6:45.3. Jontae Hankins registered a time of 27:30.55, good for 73rd place. Maysha Foster turned in a 6k of 29:06.22 for 80th place.
On the men's side, Brighton Dawson led the Wesley finishers with a time of 28:36.05 in the 8k. Dawson ran an average time of 5:45.3 and placed in 53rd place.
Anthony Anastasi notched a 68th place time of 29:50.05, with an average mile of 6:00.1. Raul Torres (34:24.92), Jordan Dillard (35:25.47) and Alexander Haber (37:02.97) were the other Wesley finishers in the 8k.
The next meet scheduled for the Wesley cross country teams is the Delaware State Alumni Invitational on Friday, Oct. 12.
