Wesley men finish second at Atlantic East Championships; Anastasi, Dawson earn conference honors

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Wesley College men's cross country team took part in the first-ever Atlantic East Conference Cross Country Championships in a wet, muddy Saturday.

Anthony Anastasi led the Wesley runners with a third-place finish in the 8k with a time of 30:45.2. He ran an average mile of 6:11.1. Brighton Dawson placed sixth with a time of 31:11.4 with an average mile of 6:16.4. With their top-10 finish, Anastasi and Dawson were named First Team All-Atlantic East Conference.

Raul Torres placed in the top-20 in the conference meet with a 19th-place time of 34:37.5. Erick Acevedo and Jordan Dillard finished 21st and 22nd respectively in the race. Acevedo ran a time of 35:06.6 while Dillard turned in a time of 35:11.7.

Alex Haber (30th, 37:23.9), Rex Chege (31st, 37:50.0) and Ian Thorne (36th, 39:19.9) rounded out the Wesley runners at the Atlantic East meet.

As a team, the Wesley men placed second. Marywood won the Atlantic East Conference Championship.
