Wesley Cross Country Runners Earn Second Team All Conference Honors at AEC Championship

Wesley Men's and Women's Cross Country traveled to Lakeland High School for the Atlantic East Conference Championship hosted by Marywood on Saturday, November 2nd.

The Men's team participated in the 8k and finished 5th with 85 points, a total time of 2:48.48.7 and an average time of 33:45.74. Marywood won the championship for the second year in a row with 24 points. Wesley's Brighton Dawson finished 8th overall with a time of 30:07.5 and 8 points. Behind Dawson was Anthony Anastasi in 9th with a time of 30:15.3 and 9 points. Samuel Courtney finished 18th with a time of 32:13.7, Damani Eason placed 29th with a time of 36:20.5, Ian Thorne in 33rd at 39:51.7, Rex Chege in 35th at 41:23.6 and Judson Watson in 37th at 47:24.0.

The Women's team ran the 6k and placed 6th overall with 132 points, a total time of 3:02:33.40 and an average time of 36:30.68. Marywood won the championship for the second year in a row with 18 total points. Wesley's Jontae Hankins finished 13th overall with a time of 28:24.3 and 13 points. Catherine Bennett finished 30th overall with a time of 34.21.4. Behind Bennett was Kara Dietrich in 34th at 39:30.4 followed by Andrea Herrera-Lopez in 37th at 45:15.4.

Anthony Anastasi, Brighton Dawson and Jontae Hankins all earned second team all conference honors for their finishes. Anastasi, Dawson, Hankins and Samuel Courtney will all head to Regionals on November 16th.
