MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – With a 6-3 win over Juniata on Thursday afternoon, in the final day of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, Wesley College's softball team equaled its win total from all of last season.  The Wolverines, under the leadership of first-year head coach Juli Greep, are now 4-4 this season.

After a pair of scoreless innings, Wesley got on the board as Jessica Barranco slugged her second home run of the season to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.  Samantha Barker followed up with a double and she later scored to extend the lead to two.

Juniata responded with three runs of its own in the third but Ashlyn Booth's career-high third home run in the sixth put the Wolverines back on top 4-3.

Wesley tacked on two more in its final at bat with RBIs by Tamerra Starr and Nicole Piscopo, scoring Shannon Wright and Booth and the Eagles went down in order in the seventh.

Not only did Wesley equal its wins from 2011, it also exceeded its home run total from last season with five round-trippers through just eight games.

The Wolverines return to Dover and will host Capital Athletic Conference rival Frostburg State in a 12 pm doubleheader on Sunday, March 11.
