Marcano Named Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - The Wesley College Softball team earned a pair of wins in a sweep over Keystone College on Saturday, thanks in large part to Nina Marcano's bat. For her efforts, the junior was named Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Marcano, a Townsend, Del. native, was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after blasting a pair of three-run home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Keystone, including a walk-off blast in game two. Tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two, Marcano delivered a walk-off three-run bomb to give the Wolverines the twinbill sweep. She finished the week with four hits, seven RBIs, three runs scored and a 2.333 slugging percentage.

The junior leads the Wolverines in RBI (16), home runs (2), and extra base hits (7). Marcano and the Wesley squad will return to action on Saturday, March 26 in their conference opener against Mary Washington.
