DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College Softball team ran into one of the nation's best on Wednesday and were swept by Capital Athletic Conference rival No. 6 Salisbury. The Wolverines fell 6-0 in game one and then 14-0 in game two.
Wesley recorded four hits in each of the two games. Samantha Burns and Nina Marcano each recorded one hit in each game. Morgan Seymour, Lauren Hoffman, Ashley Royer, and Devin Mackay all finished with one hit apiece on the day. Marcano also finished with a pair of stolen bases.
Lindsay Siok threw all seven innings in game one, holding one of the nation's best offenses to just six runs on 10 hits. The junior attempted to start game two and go the distance but was pulled in the first inning. Sydney Botsch tossed the final 4.2 innings.
The Wolverines move to 12-14 on the season with a 5-7 mark in conference play. The team will look to bounce back with a pair of contests at Christopher Newport on Saturday, April 16.
