Royer earns CAC Player of the Week accolades

DOVER, Del. -- Wesley sophomore utility player Ashley Royer was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Softball Player of the Week, for the week of Feb. 20-26.

Royer led the Wolverines to a pair of doubleheader sweeps over the weekend. Royer hit .736 (10-for-13) with a home run, 13 RBIs, three doubles, and two triples in sweeps over Lincoln (Pa.) and Swarthmore this past weekend. Royer has registered at least one hit and one RBI in all four games, and posted a slugging percentage of 1.538. Royer leads the CAC in batting average (.769), runs batted in (13), slugging percentage (1.538), and triples (2). 

Last season, Royer lead the team with a .616 slugging percentage. Royer earned 26 RBIs, notching eight doubles, one triple, and four home runs. Royer also ranked third on the squad in batting average (.360).

The Wolverines (4-0) will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. over spring break to compete in the week-long Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic. Wesley will open the tournament on Mon., March 6 with a doubleheader against Medaille and Ursinus starting at 9:30 a.m.
