Softball stumbles at No. 7 Christopher Newport

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Wesley College softball team stumbled in a road Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) doubleheader at Saturday against the seventh-ranked Christopher Newport Captains.

Wesley dropped the first game 10-1 before falling 9-0 in the nightcap to CNU.

Dori Loukopoulos drove in the lone Wesley run of the first game on an RBI single to left field in the fourth inning that plated Ashley Royer from third base.

Miranda Kinney notched the other Wesley hit of the first game in the fourth inning.

Kelly Palmer tallied Wesley's lone hit of the second game with a leadoff single to left field in the top of the third inning.

The Wolverines (10-8-1, 0-2 CAC) will be back at home on Wednesday when they host the Mary Washington Eagles. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3 p.m. Prior to the games, the team will honor Wesley's faculty and staff.
