Myrtle Beach, SC – The Wolverines secured their sixth straight win in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, shutting out the East. Mennonite Royals, 9-0 after a mercy rule was called at the end of the fifth inning. The team improves to a 6-0 record since making the trip down and a 9-3 record on the regular season.

The Softball team got off to a hot start in the top of the first with Brandi Dalious' RBI single to left. Miranda Kinney would step up to the plate later in the inning and slam a two-run double to score Dalious and Gabriella Monzo. Wesley would lead 3-0 after the big inning.

The Wolverines' offensive blows wouldn't stop there as Monzo would knock in Amanda Curry on a double to right field in the top of the third. After Brooke McCormick's hit by pitch, Kinney would send home two more Wesley runners with a single for her fourth RBI of the day.

Monzo would pick up her second RBI of the game when she sent a sky-high fly out to center field in the fourth, scoring Bianca Newsom from third. Newsom would knock home two more runs in the fifth, extending the lead to 9-0 by the end of the game.

Loukopoulos hurled another gem during the game, tossing four innings of no-hit ball while striking out three. As Wesley's lead became exaggerated by the fifth, Abbey Mayse took the mound and allowed no runs on just two hits.

Newsom had three hits in four at-bats while batting in two runs and scoring two runs herself. Kinney's four RBI's would be a difference maker in today's barrage of Wolverine runs.

The team will face William Pace tomorrow, Thursday, March 5th. First pitch is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
