DOVER, Del. - Wesley College's women's basketball team dropped its Capital Athletic Conference opener to York College, 92-47, Wednesday night at its Wentworth Gymnasium. The Wolverines fall to 1-4 on the season and 0-1 in the CAC as the Spartans improve to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Rachelle Allen led Wesley with 11 points with a pair of treys and four steals while Katie Kirk pitched in with 10 points. Both Earlena Frazier and Jazmine Miller added nine points apiece for the Wolverines.
YCP took the early advantage scoring the game's first 13 points which the Wolverines could not recover from. The Spartans were led by April Sparkman who scored a career-high 36 points and 12 rebounds. Brittany Hicks and Kristen Haley also scored in double figures for York.
The Wolverines are back in action Saturday, December 3, when they host CAC rival Hood College at 2 pm.
