Women's Hoops Falls in Defensive Battle

ARLINGTON, Va. - Wesley College's women's basketball team dropped a Capital Athletic Conference matchup at Marymount (Va.), 52-40, on Wednesday night at Verizon Sports Arena.  The Wolverines fall to 0-5 on the year and 0-2 in the CAC while Saints improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Roniece Williams scored a team-high ten points for Wesley, while Monique Miller added eight and Tiara White chipped in with seven.  The Wolverines shot just 25.5% from the floor but stayed in by outrebounding the Saints and holding Katelyn Fischer to just nine points on 3-of-12 shooing.

Marymount's win was much in doubt as a jumper by Williams cut Marymount's lead to 30-28 with 14:51 left in regulation.  The Saints then scored 11 straight points over the next four minutes and 55 seconds to take a 41-28 lead and seal the win.

The Wolverines return to action on December 7 when they travel to Frostburg State for a 1 pm CAC tipoff.
