DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College Women's Basketball team fell 73-33 against Capital Athletic Conference leader, Christopher Newport University on Saturday afternoon at Wentworth Gymnasium. The Wolverines now stand at 4-7 overall, 1-11 in conference while the Captains advance to 19-2, 11-1 in the CAC.
Brionna Johnson had a standout performance, scoring 20 points and falling one rebound shy of a double-double. The Wolverines saw some life in the second half when a basket by Dot Lewis in the final minutes of the game brought the team to their feet. Lewis scored two points and had two rebounds in the seven minutes that she was on the court.
Tia Perry and Camry Green played well for the Captains. Perry scored 20 points and shot 100% from the line while Green brought in a double-double with ten rebounds and 14 points.
The Wolverines return to action in Salisbury, Maryland when they face the Salisbury University Seagulls on Wednesday, February 12 at 5:30 PM.
