DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College Women's Basketball team opens their Capital Athletic Conference schedule with a tough game on Wednesday night as the Wolverines host Marymount University at 6:00 p.m.
The Wolverines fell to the Saints twice last season, as Marymount earned a season sweep of the Navy and White on their way to a CAC regular season crown. The Saints finished last season with a 23-6 mark and a 16-2 record in the CAC on the way.
Alexus Stroud leads the Wolverines and is ranked third in the conference in total scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game with a 42.9% field goal percentage. Tiyanna Gibbs is ranked fifth in the conference for average rebounds per game with 8.6, while Brionna Johnson is fourth in the conference in field goal percentage with 49.1% while averaging 13.6 points per game.
Marymount has opened their season with a 3-1 mark with their only blemish coming at the hands of Stevenson University in their last game. Nicole Viscuso leads the team in points per game with 12.5 and is also averaging a squad-best 6.8 rebounds per game. The junior forward tormented the Wolverines last season, averaging 23.0 points in their two meetings a year ago.
