Kerns nets career-high in loss to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Senior guard Brittany Kerns netted a career-best 19 points but the Wesley College women's basketball team dropped a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest Wednesday night to the Salisbury Seagulls, 97-48.

Kerns drained three three-pointers and four free-throws en route to her career-high. Kerns also gathered three rebounds for the Wolverines.

Junior Alexis Stroud also recorded double-digits for the Wolverines. Stroud tallied 11 points along with five rebounds.

Senior forward Brionna Johnson reeled in a team-high eight rebounds while junior center Maura Binkley pulled down six boards.

Lauren Rothfield had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Seagulls.

Wesley (6-9, 2-6 CAC) will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host the Southern Virginia Knights in a CAC matchup. Tip off from Wentworth Gymnasium is scheduled for 1 p.m.
