Johnson joins 1,000 point, 1,000 rebound club against PSU-Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Wesley College women's basketball team came away with a 66-57 setback in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) matchup to the Penn State Harrisburg Lions on Wednesday.

Senior guard/forward Brionna Johnson tallied 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Wolverines.  With her performance, Johnson joined Angie Owens '11 as the only two players in Wesley women's basketball history to record a 1,000 points and a 1,000 rebounds in a career. Johnson notched her 1,000 point during the 2015-16 season against Frostburg St. on Jan. 16, 2016.

Sophomore guard Monshea Newsome-Murray came off the bench to lead the Wolverines with 14 points and nine rebounds in the loss. Junior guard Alexus Stroud chipped in with eight points while freshman guard Paige Hailstock added six points and four rebounds.

Tessa Dolce paced the Lions with 17 points.

The Wolverines (7-17, 3-14 CAC) will wrap up the 2017 season when they host the Mary Washington Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 18 in a CAC contest. Tipoff for Senior Day is scheduled for 1 p.m.
