Four players net double-digits in 59-45 win over Penn State-Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The Wesley College women's basketball team picked up their first win of the season in a 59-45 win over the Penn St.-Harrisburg Lions in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest. 

After falling behind in the first quarter 15-13, the Wolverines pulled ahead in the second quarter behind a 16-4 run to take a 29-23 lead heading to the halftime break and held the lead for the rest of the game. 

Four players tallied double digit points for the Wolverines. Tiyanna Gibbs led all scorers with 15 points. Gibbs added four rebounds, three steals and three assists. Paige Hailstock netted 14 points and went 4-of-9 from three-point range. Stacey O'Neale and Shelby Johnson each recorded 11 points respectively. Johnson also collected six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Monshea Newsome-Murray chipped in with six steals and five rebounds while Megan Shacklock pulled down a team-high seven rebounds in the win.

Janel Brown had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Lions.

The Wolverines (1-2, 1-0 CAC) will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 26 when they host the Arcadia Knights in their 2017-18 home opener. Tip off from Wentworth Gymnasium is set for 2 p.m.
